Guest speaker at the AGM

Professor John Morgan (School of Curriculum & Pedagogy, University of Auckland)

John Morgan will speak to us immediately after the AGM.

Prior to taking up his position at The University of Auckland, John held Readerships in Education at both the University of Bristol and the Institute of Education, University of London, where he taught on a range of courses, including teacher education, masters in geographical education, and ICT and Society. From 2005-2008 he was seconded to Futurelab to lead Enquiring Minds, a research and development project funded by Microsoft’s Partners in Learning programme.

John started his career as a geography teacher in schools in London (UK), completing his doctorate on geographical education before taking up a position at the University of Bristol in 2000.

NCEA External Assessment: Grade Score Marking Explained

Wondering how your students work was marked?

In 2012, external assessment for level 1 and 2 was carried out using Grade Score Marking. To coincide with the implementation of the revised achievement standards. All external revised achievement standards have been written with a single outcome to allow aggregation of assessment evidence from across an examination paper.
